Privacy Policy

How MuseCanto collects, uses, protects, and shares information when you use the creator workspace.

This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of MuseCanto ("we", "us", or the "Operator") collects, stores, uses, protects, and shares personal information when you access MuseCanto at musecanto.com (the "Service").

By registering for or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.

1. Operator and contact

The Service is MuseCanto, operated by the entity operating MuseCanto. The website is https://musecanto.com. For privacy-related requests, contact support@musecanto.com.

Contact us for data access, correction, deletion, or account cancellation requests. We may verify account ownership before fulfilling a request.

2. Information we collect

We collect only information reasonably necessary to provide, secure, and improve the Service.

Information you provide

  • Account information such as name, email address, and a password stored in hashed form.
  • Optional profile information, including an avatar and language preferences.
  • User content such as knowledge bases, documents, topics, drafts, metadata, and files.
  • Messages sent through support, contact, or feedback channels.
  • Billing records such as plan, order ID, amount, currency, status, and limited payment-method metadata. Payment processors—not MuseCanto—collect full card, wallet, or bank credentials.

Information collected automatically

  • Product usage, page views, session activity, and error reports.
  • Browser, operating system, language, time zone, device, and IP information.
  • Authentication, preference, security, and analytics cookies where enabled.

Information from other services

When you connect a service, we may receive basic identity information from sign-in providers, payment status from payment processors, or data required to operate integrations you authorize.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • create accounts, authenticate users, and protect sessions;
  • provide knowledge bases, collaborative editing, publishing workflows, and AI features you choose to use;
  • operate subscriptions, payments, invoices, and support;
  • send service, security, and account notices;
  • detect fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and violations of our terms;
  • improve reliability, performance, and user experience;
  • comply with legal, tax, regulatory, and payment-network obligations.

We do not sell personal information.

4. Storage, retention, and security

Information is stored by us or trusted infrastructure providers and may be processed outside your country. We keep it only as long as needed for the Service, legal compliance, dispute resolution, security, and accounting.

When content or an account is deleted, we delete or anonymize associated information within a reasonable period unless retention is legally required.

Safeguards include HTTPS/TLS, password hashing, access controls, role restrictions, monitoring, and incident-response procedures. No transmission or storage method is completely secure; you are responsible for protecting your credentials.

5. Sharing

We may share information with:

  • infrastructure, storage, email, analytics, security, support, and payment providers acting on our behalf;
  • third-party integrations you explicitly connect;
  • authorities or other parties when required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, and service integrity;
  • a successor in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or asset sale, subject to continued protection.

We do not rent or trade personal information for third-party marketing.

6. Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, consent withdrawal, or portability of eligible personal information.

You can update available profile fields or close your account in product settings. For other requests, email support@musecanto.com with the subject Privacy Request and your registered email address.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to people under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, measure reliability, and prevent abuse. Browser controls can disable cookies, but some Service functions may stop working.

9. Browser extension

The MuseCanto browser extension helps signed-in creators prepare and publish content to platforms they already use. It is part of the Service and follows this policy.

What the extension accesses

  • The MuseCanto website origin declared in the extension manifest, so the extension can share your signed-in MuseCanto session.
  • Optional platform origins you explicitly approve at publish time, such as WeChat Official Accounts, Zhihu, Juejin, X, or Reddit.
  • Local browser cookies for those approved platform origins only to detect whether you are already signed in on that platform.
  • Tabs and page scripting needed to open platform compose pages and fill content you chose to publish.
  • Local extension storage for preferences, installation identifiers, and in-progress publish job state.

What the extension does not do

  • It does not upload platform cookies, session tokens, or browser passwords to MuseCanto.
  • It does not request all website access at install time. Platform host permissions are requested only when you publish to that platform.
  • It does not sell browsing history or use platform sessions for advertising.

Content and job metadata

Document content selected for publishing is sent only to the destinations you choose. MuseCanto stores publish job metadata and results such as job status, selected platforms, timestamps, and resulting URLs where available. External images may be imported into MuseCanto storage when needed for a publish workflow.

Analytics in the extension

Where permitted by consent settings, the extension may send product analytics and error diagnostics through providers such as PostHog. Analytics identify calls that include account traits run only after technical and interaction consent is granted. Session cookies and tokens are not logged.

10. International transfers

Where information crosses borders, we take reasonable steps to apply safeguards required by applicable law and our agreements with service providers.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted on MuseCanto with a revised effective date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
